Artist statement:
To make the invisible visible and tangible through making artwork is my intention as an artist.
I want to unpeel layers. There are no references to portray emotion. I am authentic to my inner landscape. The tactile experience is a vital component. The speed of the brushstroke and the viscosity of the paint.
Choreography and Rhythm.
The feel of the material and the physicality of its weight. Being present with the moment. Being in the body The act of making work inspires a new experience, connects with something elemental.
The viewers experience interests me and rewards me. I am drawn to vast spaces in nature. Empty buildings. Silence nourishes and informs me.
